At Pooches Galore we understand that there are certain areas you may need more work on than others; that is why we have designed a series of workshops which address the most common problems. If you have a problem which isn't covered by one of our workshops maybe taking a one-2-one session maybe the solution you need.
Workshops include:
- Recall
- Lead walking
- Child safety around dogs
- Thinking of getting a dog?

Unfortunately, it's an all too common story on the news, a child bitten by a dog. Pooches Galore wants to help to reduce this worrying trend by offering a one hour workshop designed to educate children how to act around dogs.
We teach what signs friendly dogs give off and which signs scared dogs give out. We also talk about strange dogs as well as known dogs. We believe that by teaching children when they are young they won't end up in trouble! We teach children how to great and play with dogs, along with lots of handouts they can take home and work through with their families.
This workshop is free of charge and can be brought to your club or society - just give us a ring and we can arrange something with you.

Having dog who isn't well behaved on their lead can lead to nightmare walks which you begin to dread. It can lead a number of owners resorting to choke collars and devices which cause
pain to the dog, but don't help to train your dog to walk on the lead nicely. At this workshop we teach you many different ways to get your dog walking to heel beside you, without using choke collars, half check collars, or shock collars. Instead you will be rewarding good walking behaviour.
For this workshop you will need to bring a fixed length lead and a flat collar.

When you are thinking of getting a dog it can be overwhelming, everyone with their own advice and best way of doing things – a lot of this advice can be contradictory. Pooches Galore has designed this workshop to talk through all elements of choosing the right dog, what you need to buy and how to survive the first few weeks.
The workshop covers how to find the right dog for you (whether this is a new puppy or a rescue dog), what to buy for your dog, the first few days, house training as well as how to go about basic training and how to overcome common problems.

We all know how frustrating it is to stand in a field, calling your dog back to you while they are off having a whale of a time! Having a dog who doesn't come back to you can also be dangerous and potentially fatal.
Dogs are so inquisitive about the world around, they find all the sights and smells out on a walk far more interesting than you. This workshop helps to ensure that your dog finds you more interesting than everything else going on around it and have them bounding over the field and back to you.
We help you achieve your dream recall through a number of exercises to help you in different real life situations.
